Trident Group has
set up a School of Social Sciences for self-financial courses of
subjects in social sciences. As a beginning, the 2 years PG
courses of M.A (Social Work) popularly known as MSW, was started
with effect from the session 2005-06 .
The NGO sector has fast emerged as a strong parallel to the
corporate sector for generating substantial employment both in
urban and rural areas. Whereas social service was earlier
limited to pure voluntary works, in the present context for the
developmental fundings, Govt of India and other national and
international donor agencies have started preferring the NGO
routes to maximise the benefits to the grassroots. Therefore,
there is an increasing need of carefully chosen professionally
qualified social sector executives for efficient management of
NGOs. Accordingly, there is an emphasis on post graduates of
social work who are needed in the NGO sector in large numbers
now.
