IT in institutional governance

Academic Audit

Working towards a paperless office in the college, Trident Academy of Technology has adopted a phased plan for using Information Technology in the governance of the institution. It will be done, both in general administration as well as academic administration. Following are the areas identified for the purpose and work has already begun in some of them.

1. The usual beginning has been done by the college to host its own website at tactindia.org. In its initial form, the contents of this website are just sufficient for an overall view.

2. The module for management of admission enquiries (with effect from 2007) has been developed and it is helpful for tracking meritorious prospects and all the subsequent admission related queries of students.

3. Around September 2007, infront of the general office of the engineering college, a “Touch-Screen-Kiosk” is being planned which will help visitors for self-help towards useful information on the college and its students.

4. In addition to the above, following modules are under development and are likely to be implemented over the period of one year.

(a) Admission Management System
(b) Examination Management System
(c) Student Progress Management System
(d) Personnel Information System
(e) Asset/Procurement Management System
(f) E-library(Library Management System)
(g) Budget/Finance Management System
(h) Facilities (Hostel/Transport) Management System
