The Trident Group envisioned organized programmes in Biotechnology in two distinctly different channels. Whereas B. Tech and M.Tech courses in Biotechnology, Bioinformatics etc., have been planned in the engineering college (Trident Academy of Technology) a clarification has been obtained from AICTE that for degrees of B.Sc/M.Sc in Biotechnology approval of AICTE is not required and with the approval of the State Govt and affiliation of Utkal University, Bhubaneswar, such Science courses in Biotechnology have been channeled through TACT. 

With effect from 2002, Trident group has gradually introduced the courses of M.Sc (Biotechnology) and B.Sc (Hons) Biotechnology under Utkal University’s affiliation in TACT. Excellent infrastructure of TACT in Biotechnology (Faculty, Laboratories, Library) and can be viewed at

In Trident Academy of Technology, the engineering college w.e.f. the 2005-06 session, the course of B. Tech (Biomedical Engineering) has been instituted with affiliation of the state’s University of Technology (BPUT). As per the guideline of AICTE, B.Tech (Biotechnology) is being planned to be introduced in 2010.
