The
Bitechnology Lab
In
the new complex of TACT, about 6000 sft floorspace
have been provided for different laboratories of
Biotech Sciences.
Apartfrom a general 32 seater Biotechnology
laboratory, there is a separate 32 seater
Biochemistry lab and there are three separate labs
for Bioinstrumentation, Microbiology and Funded
research projects. The ground floor also houses
the general store of Biotech chemicals and a
dedicated sterilization room with the required
Autoclaves and instruments. There is a chemistry
lab on the first floor only for B.Sc (Hons)
Biotechnology.
Biotechnology is a costly
course primarily because of the very high cost of
equipments necessary in the labs and also because
of high cost of chemicals for lengthy
experimentation. TACT has already made substantial
investments in procuring almost all the equipments
and instruments necessary to teach 80 students per
batch of B.Sc (Honours) Biotechnology, 64 students
per batch for M.Sc (Biotechnology) per batch and
32 students per batch of M.Sc (Bioinformatics).
